Gift "Registry"

Lee and I haven't registered at any stores, but we would like to put out a list of ideas for folks who are looking. The mother of the bride has volunteered to keep track of what people have already purchased. If you would like to tell her what you have, or ask if an item has already been purchased, you can e-mail her at nnorcross@tds.net.

Wedding Weather Take-2

Alright, I think I've fixed the wedding weather link problem.

The way it is set up (I think), no one but Lee and I can view the other events.

In other words, if you'd like to see the weather forcast for the "other wedding events"

section, you'd need a password.

Check it out, tell me if you like what you see.

If you would like to view the wedding events, I

can always e-mail you the password. I highly doubt

my bank account will be emptied by an identity thief who

succeeded in hacking my wedding weather forecast.

On another note, the dress is almost done!!!

Busy Busy Busy

Feel like there's too much hanging over your head?











May has been one of the busiest months of my life. When I decided to quit my job as a morning stocker, I expected to have three jobs for about a week or so...not three.

As soon as I started my new "full time" job, I realized it was going to be hard work, and I may have to give up my job at the library. But I was willing (albeit begrudgingly) if it meant paying the bills. So I had three part-time jobs for two weeks. When that was over I thought I could take it easy. But then another job opportunity happened to present itself at the library. I thought to myself, I really don't need it, but what the heck! I might as well try. And so I have three jobs again for a week and a half while I quit my full-time job (in which I never got the chance to get up to full-time) and am now working two positions at the library. One in Reference, and one playing video games with kids. I absolutely love it. I was overjoyed to be able to stay at the library. It is an absolutely wonderful place to work.


But then what about that part-time, full-time job? I felt a little sheepish for quiting after only a month of working there. I thought to myself, "God...why work somewhere for a month? Why give me the opportunity if you knew I would get this better job so soon after getting hired?" But then my mother reminded me of the Israelites in the desert lead by Moses in Exodus 16 and the food that God provided them. It was never too little or too much, and none of it was to be stored away except the day before the Sabbath. Perhaps that Hobby Lobby job was my manna? Enough of a paycheck to pay the bills until I received the position at the library? Regardless I am very thankful and very excited about what I can help accomplish at the library.


Things should be settling down now (knock on wood), and I will once again have the time to keep you all updated on wedding events.

Ring, Room, and Risks

Well, Lee and I now have our set of rings in a little black box that is sitting on my TV table. Lately I've been bringing it everywhere I go just in case I spot another victim...er...person who hasn't seen them yet. I don't have a picture, but I will try to borrow a digital camera sometime soon. They are plain, thin, white gold bands. Simple yet elegant. What's more exciting is the prospect of wearing them in less than four months!

There's been a lot more going on these past couple of weeks than just ring jitters. We've also managed to secure a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment under my current landlord just across the hall from where I am now. The best thing about it is the washer and dryer in the small basement. I can finally stop collecting quarters. I will be moving in sometime next month (May), and Lee will join me in August.

But just after getting the apartment, my hours were cut at my second job making it incredibly difficult for me to continue putting money away for the wedding and cutting into my grocery budget. Yet I was determined to have faith that God will provide for me, even if His plans don't coincide with my own. And do you know what? God doesn't disappoint. I will be starting my new full time job at Hobby Lobby on Monday. The funny thing is, I called to ask if they were hiring. They weren't. I turned in an application anyway. The manager I talked to said they weren't hiring, but they'll keep it on file. Not even 24 hours later they called me for an interview. When I arrived, they asked when I could start. You see, the store manager decided to expand the home decor department with one additional full time position (there was only one full time person and a few part-timers). They decided not to advertise for the moment and give the next applicant a call. That would be me.

One more step!

Yesterday Lee and I ordered our wedding rings. It was very exciting, and a lot less of a hassle than we had expected. When the commitment means much more than precious gems, its pretty simple to point at a pair of white gold bands and be perfectly happy bypassing the triple digit and even four digit price tags.

We'll be getting them in about two weeks, and in four months we'll get to use them.

I don't have much to contribute yet.
It took me 2 days to figure out how to get this far!
I look forward to contributing to the planning of the wedding.
I think this will be a great tool to help cover the distance gap.

Construction season endith!

We are officially done making the basic changes on our Wedding blog. We will be releasing the site address to all our family and friends very shortly. Please feel free to comment about anything you'd like to see added. Afterall, this blog is for all of you to stay informed. If you'd like a date added to the calendar of events, or a web site to the links, comment or e-mail one of us and we will make the change.

The only link we have now, is the destination of our honeymoon which has yet to be officially booked. We hope to get a wishlist or gift registry link up soon.

The Beginning

The walls are bare, the floor empty, and the journal turned to the first page. Of course things are going to be a little rocky in the beginning. I could never be diligent about diaries, let alone an online blog. But, I expect to learn as I go so bare with me and my lack of virtual knowledge.

My rough idea for this site/blog is to have regular entries about Lee and my progress in wedding plans. There are a few things I would like to provide for all our friends and relatives in an attempt to be kept updated. They are...
